Gardner Denver, the global manufacturer of compressors, pumps, blowers and other engineered solutions have selected the Hatz 1D81C silent pack to power their latest innovation – a self-contained, skid mounted, oil pump and metering unit.
This brand new product will be used for dispensing accurate amounts of oil up to 1000 litres to garages and workshop facilities across the UK. Intended for use on curtain sided trucks, it removes the need to have a permanently installed pump fitted directly onto a vehicle. Using this pump will give an operator more flexibility when managing a transport fleet, by allowing the skid unit to be swapped from vehicle to vehicle, simply and efficiently by using standard forklift truck.
The inspiration to design and build this skid unit was entirely customer driven. Gardner Denver was approached by a client to solve the issue of having to deliver metered oil with their fleet of vehicles. They didn’t want to be constrained by having one vehicle dedicated to delivering metered oil, hence the production of this transferable, skid mounted unit.
Gardner Denver’s Lee Senior confirmed, “We have used Hatz engines previously with no reported problems. The customer requested the engine to be as quiet as possible, so the option of obtaining this unit in a silent pack form was very appealing, as it meant that we didn’t have to add any additional soundproofing.”
Lee added, “The Hatz engine can be very easily tailored to suit numerous hydraulic pump drives and is almost plug and play in its installation. The support given from Hatz GB has been first class from the initial specification of the engine through to installation and technical support provided at all stages.”
The single cylinder Hatz 1D81C silent pack engine provides motive power for a hydraulic drive pumping system. The pumping system will dispense oil at a rate of up to 100 litres per minute through a calibrated oil metering system that automatically shuts-down once the required delivery volume has been reached. All controls are duplicated on either side of the unit to allow operators to work from both the nearside and off side of the vehicle. The skid unit is equipped with a handy electric rewind hose reel for dispensing the oil from the truck to the receiving facility. It also has a pneumatic blow down function that will purge all the oil out of the pipework, once the delivery is complete. The footprint of the skid unit is that of two standard size IBC containers, 1.2m x 2.4m, so it will fit with ease into a vehicle designed for carrying this type of cargo.
