Alongside its extensive range of equipment for the construction, quarrying and recycling industries, JCB will display two product innovations at Hillhead – the brand new X Series crawler excavator and 7T-1 Front Tip Hi-Viz site dumper model.
Both have been developed to meet the rigorous demands of the industry and place the operator at the heart of their design.
JCB 220X crawler excavator
The new X Series 20-tonne tracked excavator model has been developed to provide maximum operator comfort, durability and reliability in operation. Over a four-year development period, JCB has undertaken a programme of intensive component and product testing, to achieve increased levels of build quality and reliability for customers in this advanced new JCB 220X crawler excavator.
JCB’s Chief Innovation and Growth Officer Tim Burnhope said: “The launch of the X Series crawler excavators sees JCB perfectly positioned to increase its share of the growing global excavator market. Our investment of £110 million in the research and development of this next generation of excavators underlines our commitment to building JCB’s presence in this sector and to delivering what our customers need.
“With the introduction of the innovative JCB220X, we have reached new levels of product quality and machine assembly, bringing customers across the world the exceptional strength, durability, reliability, comfort, ease of use, efficiency and serviceability they demand.”
JCB 7T-1 Front Tip Hi-Viz site dumper
JCB has moved the market forwards with the launch of the Hi-Viz seven tonne model. The 7T-1 Front Tip Hi-Viz model addresses the key safety concerns experienced on construction sites today – visibility, stability and operator protection. By using a low-slung chassis design and revised skip, the operator benefits from huge improvements in front visibility. Compared to a conventional six-tonne dumper when laden, the 7T-1 Hi-Viz model offers a 77% improvement.
Tim Burnhope said: “Site safety is crucial to everyone within the construction industry and integral to the design of JCB equipment. With the introduction of the new JCB 7T-1 Front Tip Hi-Viz site dumper, JCB has raised the bar.
“It is an industry first, unique machine designed to tackle key safety concerns with a 77% improvement in visibility, increased stability and increased operator protection.”
The new X Series excavators and revolutionary JCB 7T-1 Front Tip Hi-Viz site dumper feature at Hillhead alongside a vast selection of further machines from the extensive JCB range – all tailored to the demanding needs of the quarrying, demolition and recycling sectors. These will include: the pioneering Hydradig 110W, JCB Pilingmaster backhoe loader and series of additional models from its tracked excavator, wheeled excavator, wheeled loading shovel, site dumper, backhoe loader, generator, Loadall telescopic handler, compaction equipment and attachments line-ups.
